Collaboration alert! *designer klaxon*
Decidedly OTT Vogue personality Anna Dello Russo is the next person to collaborate with H&M. The collection will feature “over-the-top” accessories that will hit selected stores in October.
“I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M have involved a Fashion Director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it,” she says.
Lashings of turquoise and gold feature heavily (if exclusively) from the pics we have seen so far and there are shoes, bags, glasses and obviously a heap of jewellery. The question is, are you excited? We’re not completely sold on this one (I am a Breton and sneakers girl and bling does not feature heavily in my wardrobe) but it is interesting that H&M has picked a super stylist instead of design to work with. Only time will tell if there are queues round the block for this collaboration.
Anna says: “As a stylist I know accessorization is essential. It is the personal touch to any outfit. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.” We reckon it might be a bit much for a supermarket shop though!
…No we don’t mean wearing flip flops in winter (but shorts are fine!)
We were glued to the S/S12 fashion weeks and got incredibly excited at the prospect of floral prints, pretty pastels, crisp white dresses, seaside and underwater-inspired collections and so much more…but then got back to the business of dressing for this season.
But now so on planet celebrity where it counts to be ‘first’ (and Hollywood is very probably quite a lot hotter than London!)
We got so excited when we spotted Sienna Miller wearing Matthew Williamson just a couple of weeks after London Fashion Week but The Telegraph has surpassed us by spotting plenty more famous folks wearing next season’s collections…Burberry, Jil Sander, Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu, Calvin Klein, Mary Katrantzou and Christian Dior.

The good news is that for those without a Miu Miu budget, the high street is choc full of glittery look-a-likes. Perfect for party season they come in a variety of colours and we predict we’ll be seeing even more of these!
We got mixed reviews from you about Versace’s collection for H&M. It is very OTT (as you might expect) but I’d still like a little piece to mix up and dress down in my wardrobe – despite the fact I’m the opposite of the Versace girl (always slightly scruffy, definitely pasty, a hater of clingy fabrics and persistent wearer of plimsolls.)
Still, it was interesting to see Vogue Italy’s legendary editor, Anna Dello Russo out and about in the collection about 2 months before the scrums start in store. She’s famous for wearing head-to-toe looks off the catwalk so this is extremely Versace (and far too intimidating for a scruff like me!) This look is SO Anna and SO Versace, but personally I’m not too keen.
However, the adverts and anticipation of seeing such an iconic brand join up with H&M is exciting! What do you make of it?

As we near the end of Paris Fashion Week (and indeed New York, London and Milan) there are some shows that you know you’ll remember in years to come…and this SS12 Chanel show is one of them!
The theme: Underwater (like Versace) but with iridescent tweed coats, translucent layering, metallic booties, shell-shaped bags, frothy hemlines like waves breaking on a beach (might be getting swept up in the romance of it all…) faux pearl piercings, wet-look cloth and all with that beautiful Chanel elegance and simplicity. If I could have everything in one collection this. would. be. it!
Florence Welch provided a live soundtrack – v Ariel from The Little Mermaid!
We won’t wax lyrical but have carefully (beach) combed Twitter for so many pics. Enjoy x
Pics pulled from various fashion eds and frow people in the heat of the moment- happy to credit (but we lost track- too excited – sorry!) P.S. We’re so so jealous of the make-up goodie bags!
