NYFW Day 7: Alexa Chung front row at Proenza Schouler

We’re huge fans for Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez who are Proenza Schouler and their fabulously West-Coast USA inspired collections.

My all-time-favourite was Spring 2010’s scuba California surf collection with bright tie dyes and last season they channeled Navajo
patterns (like the ones you’ll be rocking this winter *nod*.)

This time the collection is kind of American-looking but also centered on a 70s crafty trend – there was even shag carpet on the catwalk! Nylon, faux wood prints, loud patterns, mustard and brown, a little Hawaiian shirt influence and chunky wooden wedges had fun with the era.

And of course the collection boasted the label’s brilliantly tailored and effortlessly flattering shapes as well as a front row choc full of celebs, including one of our favourite style muses, Alexa Chung, Rachel Zoe and Pharrell Williams.

Impressive front row!

Note crafty does not mean home-made looking!

Loving the 'wood print'. Model cannot be used as a coffee table.

Geometrically perfect!
