Dazed & Confused 20th birthday free fashion art exhibition
Sometimes a magazine comes along that shakes things up and makes fashion that tiny bit more exciting than it already is. Dazed & Confused is one of those magazines and I seriously wish I could have worked there when the magazine was launched by Jefferson Hack and photographer Rankin back in 1991.
Since then it has become synonymous with cool celebs and daring fashion and we predict they’ll be some cool people at the art exhibition held at Somerset House to celebrate the publication’s 20th birthday.
Part of the Brit Pop movement where the Cool Britannia branding was born alongside some great music, artists Damian Hirst and Tracey Emin got seriously famous and we all embraced grunge and sportswear, the magazine launched many careers, notable Katie Grand who is now editor of LOVE magazine.
The exhibition, which opens on 4th November, will show off notable covers and fashion stories from the magazine as well as work by Hirst, Sam Taylor-Wood and David Sims, all hand-picked by Jefferson Hack.
P.S. it’s also free so there’s no excuse for not going if you’re in London!
