We are recovering from Fashion Night Out and what a night it was. We were lucky to be invited to Vogue and Mulberry’s amazing private party and yes there were celebs, designers, delicious cocktails, cute crowns and a chance to see the new AW12 collection, including the luscious Lana bag. I was completely star struck to meet Christopher Kane and Vogue’s Editor Alexandra Schulman, who are two of my fashion heroes. It was also lovely to chat to some of our favourite bloggers and tell them about our impending launch…it’s tomorrow, so if you have an iPhone get seriously excited!
While mingling with fashion’s great and the good, it was amazing to see how far our little team has come in the first year of its existence. Our app and website is about to launch and change the way people shop, we’ve won awards and got investment and we’ve met some of our fashion idols. We feel incredibly lucky and excited about the future. It’s such a cliché but the past year has been such an adventure and an incredible journey (without the lost cats and dogs).
So, this FNO was a little different to last year where we tested the majority of Bond Street’s FNO cocktails and ran around like crazy! But of course we had lots of fun. Our lovely PR queen Izzy was chief celeb spotter and raved about the pomegranate cocktails at Tiffanys, our CEO Jenny took some great pics of new Mulberry products and demoed our app to some amazing people, I discovered Bubble Tea (I think) at Louis Vuitton and shook Christopher Kane’s hand. I might not wash again – kidding.
Have you got any good FNO stories to share?

We’ve read so many articles in recent times about the death of the ‘IT bag’ and how ‘label fever’ and being branded with designer labels all over your outfit is so passé. Most recessionista fastionistas opted for discrete logos and plain handbags but now there is a strange new hybrid on the block- the labelled minimalist paper bag.
Jil Sander is selling a coated paper bag for £185 as part of its AW12 menswear collection. We agree that it’s the best looking paper bag we’ve seen recently but does it justify its pricetag? Well, it would appear that some men think so as it has sold out from stockist LN-CC.
Now this is no ordinary paper bag. Oh no. It boasts visible stitched seams and two metal eyelets at the bottom, according to Vogue. As well as the Jil Sander name – obvs. They say there’s a fine line between madness and genius…what do you think?
OMG this week has seen four of the most amazing beauty collaborations of late. We’ll slow down and breathe…the excitement in the Snap office is palpable! Here’s part one…
1) Nars x Andy Warhol
We have been obsessed with Andy Warhol’s art forever and one of our favourites is that portrait of Elizabeth Taylor with the punchy green eyeshadow. And now, we can paint our own faces with a collection from Nars inspired by the great pop artists’s prints. Hurray! One of our favourite pieces from the collection is the Warhol monochrome eyeshadow palate- but is it too pretty to use…is it itself a work of art?!
(P.S. the pics came out this week but the collection drops on 1 November)
2) Carine Roitfeld for MAC
One for sexy senoritas. This looks like a super chic way of updating old make-up bag favouites as the collection is based on Carine’s chic and smudy signature eyes- or as she puts it, ‘tired sexy’. Now we can rock the tired look, but this Mac launch might help with the other bit and OMG there’s a video!
There are 21 pieces to collect (and you can justify a few as they are smoky staples) but as with all Mac collections you better catch them while you can.
Carine says: “Beauty is about a small accident, it is not totally perfect. Sometimes bad things are the more beautiful things. So when you wake up and you haven’t taken off your mascara and you look a bit tired, but tired sexy – this is what I like.”

Collaboration crush alert! One of our favourite style bloggers Garance Doré has teamed up with super chic and playful label Kate Spade and it’s a match made in heaven.
The collection features her adorable illustrations (chic Parisian scenes such as women sipping cocktails) on a selection of Kate Spade dresses, blouses and *squee* accessories. The cutesiness of the prints is matched by fun slogan tops that will improve your French as well as boost your style credentials. Perfect outfits for summer, non?
Garance told The Telegraph: “This collaboration has made me want to explore fashion a bit more. Kate Spade really know what they are doing and helped me pick the characters for the prints and how to position them – it’s harder than it looks.”
Interestingly she brushed the prospect of her own line aside for now and says she prefers to focus on her current loves, including her blog – phew!

From battered boho festival favourites to practical luxe cases and neon fashion fads, the satchel never dies. We’re big fans of Brit brand The Cambridge Satchel Company and would readily covet a high end Proenza Schouler PS1…or anything of Rebecca Minkoff’s sexy studded satchel range. But for the budget (and style) conscious, Gap is doing beautifully soft leather mini satchels in teal, mustard and hot pink…for just £39.99. Crazy right?
