Jade Jagger: the wedding

The fash pack descended for Jade Jagger’s wedding, including Kate Moss, who looked like she was wearing AW12 McQueen, but it was Mick Jagger’s candy-striped suit that really grabbed our attention!

There was no sign of Georgia-May in the Daily Mail’s photo set at least, but  Bianca Jagger debuted a second wedding outfit – a men’s tux – after the black and white ensemble. While black might be unusual for most summer weddings, we’re guessing its the norm at a fashion do…best leave the pastels to Mick!

Royal Mail’s fashion-conscious stamps

It’s very rare that you can get your hands on ten designer fashion items for under a fiver, but Royal Mail has released a limited edition collection of fashion stamps with ten high-end designs from some of our favourites -and we plan on stocking up.

Amazingly, despite the speed of fashion blogs and the constant evolution of fashion trends, the fashion world loves a letter. Invitations to fashion shows are imaginative and lavish and almost always arrive by post or courier…and we have seen some deliciously fashionable stationary too. In a world of emails and texts (believe us we’re not knocking technology for a second) receiving a letter on pretty stationary can still be awesome, especially if it comes on chic personalised Smythson stationary, for example. Will you be putting a stamp on your stationary with the Royal Mail collection?

PFW: sheer + sexy

We’ve already gone crazy for the super soft pastels and feminine pieces on the Paris catwalk and now we bring you sheer and sexy – a key trend in Milan too. From fine lace and exposing sheer mesh to chainmail and supersized crochet, designers definitely want us to dare to bare…even in the winter!

PFW: Super femme

From flouncy florals at Nina Ricci and Cacherel, to pale pastels at Roland Mouret, Dior and Alexander McQueen, there were some cute feminine pieces at Paris Fashion Week – much less about the punchy digital floral prints of London and more focused on some Parisian romance, with references to yester-years from almost puritanical cuts to 1940s and 1950s lady-like silhouettes.

Soft pleats at Dior

Futuristic but frothy at Alexander McQueen

Love the colour and cut of this Roland Mouret ensemble

Top 3 weddings of 2011: Moss vs Middleton vs Neon

For us, there were three massive wedding events of 2011 and we watched two of them on TV!

Along with the rest of Britain (and the fashion world) we were glued to The Royal Wedding and of course Kate Middleton’s incredible Alexander McQueen couture gown, created by the genius of Sarah Burton.

Then of course there was Kate Moss who wore a delicate vintage-inspired dress by John Galliano – despite his dismissal from Dior after 15 years.

And finally who can forget the marvel of My Big Fat Gyspy Wedding. There is no doubt that the neon-tastic nuptials will inspire many a hen-do and many the odd wedding outside the gypsy community.

Which was your favourite wedding of 2011?

Dress of the year?

Neon dream?
