PFW: statement jumpers
Good news for those of us living in moderately chilly countries (or with rubbish summers), you can comfortably invest in a statement jumper as it will carry you through the winter too…just go easy on the pastels!
PFW: white on white
Celine has tried (and perhaps managed) to remove some of the unfashionable stigma of white heels this Spring and the all-white look is set to carry on through winter (yes even the shoes apparently). Personally I love the white tuxedo-style ensembles. So for those who would like to be a snow queen…behold!
PFW: the return of the LBD
Thank you Paris our prayers have been answered. So many girls chase trends (us included) and spend hours putting together the perfect ‘going out’ ensemble, when the classic little black dress makes us feel great each time. After a long absence from the catwalk, we spied some beautiful examples of perfect LBDs. Want!
PFW: tapestry + wallpaper
We’re trying to think of when tapestry was last cool – maybe in the 1970s thanks to Carole King? But this coming winter we’ll be going crazy for it and old wallpaper-esque prints with metallic touches, brocade and intricate beaded and lacy detailing. You have been warned. Time to redecorate!
PFW: Super femme
From flouncy florals at Nina Ricci and Cacherel, to pale pastels at Roland Mouret, Dior and Alexander McQueen, there were some cute feminine pieces at Paris Fashion Week – much less about the punchy digital floral prints of London and more focused on some Parisian romance, with references to yester-years from almost puritanical cuts to 1940s and 1950s lady-like silhouettes.

Chanel vs Ke$ha (seriously)
We have got the best PFW round-up coming your way this weekend but until then sparkly eyebrows and some less challenging Chanel deats. The weird thing is, Ke$ha might have beaten Karl Lagerfeld to this trickiest of micro trends. Voila!

PFW: Chanel: Underwater odyssey
As we near the end of Paris Fashion Week (and indeed New York, London and Milan) there are some shows that you know you’ll remember in years to come…and this SS12 Chanel show is one of them!
The theme: Underwater (like Versace) but with iridescent tweed coats, translucent layering, metallic booties, shell-shaped bags, frothy hemlines like waves breaking on a beach (might be getting swept up in the romance of it all…) faux pearl piercings, wet-look cloth and all with that beautiful Chanel elegance and simplicity. If I could have everything in one collection this. would. be. it!
Florence Welch provided a live soundtrack – v Ariel from The Little Mermaid!
We won’t wax lyrical but have carefully (beach) combed Twitter for so many pics. Enjoy x
Pics pulled from various fashion eds and frow people in the heat of the moment- happy to credit (but we lost track- too excited – sorry!) P.S. We’re so so jealous of the make-up goodie bags!
Leighton Meester + Rachel Zoe wear white in Paris
One of our favourite Gossip Girl moments (and it’s hard to choose) was Blair and Serena’s brief summer in Paris – oh the couture, the macaroons, Le Louvre and the prince – cheesy magic!
And now Leighton Meester’s been back in the French capital to take in a few shows at Paris Fashion Week wearing an outfit so good it wouldn’t look out of place in Gossip Girl.
Proving white dresses are not just for weddings, Rachel Zoe also rocked a white maxi dress and both girls chose black accessories. We love it!
PFW: Alexa Chung +Salma Hayek sit frow @ Stella McCartney
Supermodels Natalia Vodianova and Miranda Kerr modelled Stella McCartney’s latest collection, which boasted an impressive frow, comprising Salma Hayek, Alexa Chung, Twiggy and more.
Inspiration might have come from your dad’s tie collection, with paisley tie prints blown up and adorning asymmetrical mini dresses and combined with sportswear mesh and baroque-inspired hemlines. Less overtly sexy than Stella’s last collection, sheer cut-away details still figured – making this S/S12 offering possibly the thinking girl’s way to do delicately provocative?
There was also a hint of pyjama party (not in a furry Ugg slipper, huge dressing gown way (a.k.a. my way) but in a slouchy trouser and relaxed top way – one trend possibly best left to the experts?
